БИОГРАФИЯ
Miklуs Pernyi, the brilliant and internationally praised Hungarian violoncellist was born in 1948 into a musical family. From early childhood he excelled and at the age of seven his exceptioal talent was recognised and he was admitted to the violincello department at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Musec in Budapest where he studied under Professor Ede Banda.
Professor Enrico Mainardi helped in the development of the young cellist by inviting him to join in several master classes. Further studies at the Accademia Santa Cecilia brought him a degree in 1962 and the following year he was a prize winner at the Casals International Violoncello Competition in Budapest.In 1965 and 1966 Pablo Casals invited him to join his master classes in Zermatt and Puerto Rico and this was followed by invitations to perform at Marlboro Festival for four consecutive years.
Miklуs Perйnyi has been a professor at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music since 1980 but his academic life has permitted him to futher develop as a performer with appearances at many of the international music festivals. These include Lucerne, Prague, Salzburg, Vienna, Hohenems, as well as in Japan and the United States, where, most recently, he performed at the Carnegie Hall in their Centenary Jubilee series.
Miklуs Perйnyi has played regularly with a number of distinguished musicians in acclaimed sonata and chamber music concerts. These include Zoltбn Kocsis, Dezso Rбnki, Andrбs Schiff, the Takбcs and the Keller Quartet. His work is available on recordings under the Hungaroton, Quint, Decca and Metropolitan Video labels.
